Doctors Without Holidays among the 10 nominees for the "Prize For Voluntary Services"!
Thousands of associations and projects add colour to our society. The efforts of volunteers can be felt daily in your local activities or in big-scale campaigns, after management interventions in formation moments or in creative projects. In cooperation with the "United Associations", the Flemish Community wants to centre this commitment.
In order to additionally promote the power of the volunteers in the associations and projects, they award the "Prize For Voluntary Services". 230 organisations and projects strive to win this title. The jury chose Doctors Without Holidays as one of the 10 nominees! They thought that our voluntary service is inspiring for others with a bid added value to society and an example for the power originating from volunteers. “Your volunteers deserve this award in the name of all associations, the Flemish minister for Culture, Youth, Sports and Brussels and prime minister of the Flemish government!”
As nominees, the Royal Flemish Theatre (KVS) in Brussels welcomes us with all volunteers, friends, relatives and partners for the awards ceremony of May 14, 2009. On this occasion, it will be announced who the laureate of the "Prize For Voluntary Services" is. We are expected with a large group of volunteers for a photo reportage by a professional photographer on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 14:00 hours at the KVS. The continuation of the afternoon will be filled with the presentation of the 10 nominees, a musical intermezzo, the eventual awards ceremony (at 18:00 hours) and a subsequent reception.
